The Partnership for Observation of the Global Oceans, POGO, is building links worldwide among oceanographic institutions to promote long-term cooperation in comprehensive global-ocean observations. POGO created Ocean United as an informal consortium of international organisations dedicated to various aspects of ocean observations to improve communications within the ocean community and to enhance active outreach by the ocean community for the common cause of promoting sustained, integrated global ocean observations in the service of society.
